RÜM

I worked with 3 other people in the DALI Lab to create an app designed to help college roommates navigate conflicts. With RÜM, users can create events with a shared calendar, make requests to each other, and inform their roommates if they have guests in the room. This was a unique DALI project; we created this idea instead of working with an outside partner.

User Research & Brainstorming

We brainstormed different issues that affect Dartmouth students. We decided to investigate the issue of roommate conflicts. We interviewed 20 different students. We created empathy maps, POV statements, HMW questions, user journeys, and user personas. We then created flow sketches for the app.

Prototypes

We redesigned the app 11 times over the course of a term (10 weeks). We sought feedback from students and other designers after every revision.
